Following continued growth and increased project complexity, we are hiring a highly capable and assertive Senior SEO Project Manager to drive excellence and accountability across our portfolio of high-impact SEO and digital consultancy projects.

The Role
As Senior SEO Project Manager, you will be a key part of the operational backbone of Merj’s consultancy team. Your mission is to ensure seamless delivery across 5–10 enterprise clients, each with 2–3 concurrent workstreams. You will own the rhythm of delivery, coordinate consultants and leadership, and enforce rigour in planning, execution, and follow-through.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Programme and project management: Drive project planning, scheduling, reporting, and risk management across our project portfolio. Manage interdependencies and allocate resources to meet milestones.
* Consultant and leadership coordination: Hold SEO consultants and leadership (including the MD) accountable for deliverables, deadlines, and quality standards.
* Client operations: Manage the client interface on delivery matters. Track scope, timelines, and budgets. Ensure updates are regular, accurate, and relevant. This is a client as well as internal facing role, so you will liase with clients and attend weekly status updates to provide assurance that their projects are in safe hands.
* Delivery assurance: Flag blockers early, surface risks, and drive timely decision-making. Implement processes that improve visibility and reduce slippage.
* Workflow and tooling: Champion the use of Jira and other delivery tools to create predictability and enable a high standard of consultancy.
* Process improvement: Spot inefficiencies, propose solutions, and drive continuous improvement in how we deliver work to clients.
About You
We’re looking for someone with the capability, confidence, and emotional intelligence to manage world-class consultants and a strong-willed leadership team. You should be structured, assertive, and calm under pressure – someone who naturally earns respect and brings order.

Required Skills & Experience
* 5+ years of experience in a project or programme management role, ideally in an agency, consultancy, or high-growth environment.
* Demonstrable success managing multiple complex projects simultaneously, across clients and internal teams.
* Excellent command of delivery tools and frameworks (we primarily use Jira and Notion).
* Confident communicator: able to summarise issues crisply, tailor messaging for different audiences, and facilitate tough conversations when needed.
* Ability to understand and navigate SEO, martech, and data-related subject matter at a high level – enough to challenge assumptions and ask smart questions.
* Experience working with Enterprise clients and managing multiple stakeholders with competing priorities.
* High standard of written and spoken business English.
Desirable Skills & Experience
* Experience working alongside SEO teams, digital consultants, or technical specialists.
* Familiarity with ISO 27001 or other frameworks involving documentation, accountability, and quality controls.
* Understanding of agile or hybrid delivery methodologies.
