Overview

Job Title: Children\'s Residential Child Care Worker (10 - 10 Shift)

Location: Exceptional Care Ltd, The Malthouse Business Centre, 48 Southport Road; Leyland / Tarleton

Salary: £12.37 per hour (£13.50 per hour for qualified staff). Shift: 10am - 10pm, 3 on 3 off


About The Company

Exceptional Care is a therapeutic children’s service providing care and support to children and young people aged 8-17 from complex backgrounds who display challenging behaviour and EBD. The service is an independent social care organisation with multiple residential units across the North West. We use a systemic therapeutic approach rooted in attachment theory and trauma-informed practice, and we are implementing a framework of assessment and outcome monitoring using the Secure Base Model.

Your Role

You will have the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people, attending to their practical, physical and emotional needs, and safeguarding each young person at all times. You will provide a high standard of care and support in a professional manner to vulnerable young people with challenging behaviour and emotional/behavioural difficulties. You will develop good working relationships with children, young people and other agencies, building trust and positive relationships. You will be part of a team that creates a loving, stable environment to help each young person achieve positive outcomes and learning experiences.


Responsibilities

* Support 1:1 or 2:1 staffing in a residential setting.
* Attend to practical, physical and emotional needs of young people.
* Safeguard and supervise at all times.
* Collaborate with external agencies and colleagues to support outcomes.


Qualifications

Required Criteria

* 6-12 months experience within a children\'s residential setting.

Desirable Criteria

* NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Children and Young People\'s Workforce (preferred or willing to work towards).
* Full UK Manual Driving Licence (preferred)
