If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Housing Team as a Housing Support Officer at West Berkshire Council.
Responsibilities
* Providing information and initial advice to customers, including how to access support from other services.
* Administering and assessing the needs of individuals applying for CRF and offering appropriate advice.
* Assisting customers in completing applications for housing, benefits, and other relevant services.
* Delivering accurate and timely responses to enquiries, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
* Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate effective referrals and signposting.
In addition to the above, you will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records and providing statistical information as required.
Qualifications
* Knowledge and understanding of housing issues, including legislation and available support services.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and empathise with customers from diverse backgrounds.
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage a varied caseload and prioritise tasks effectively.
* Problem-solving mindset, with the ability to provide practical solutions to housing challenges.
* Team player, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues and external partners.
Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous, but not essential. A positive attitude and a genuine desire to make a difference in people\'s lives are key attributes we are looking for.
