Looking at autism through a sensory lens
On Friday, 5 April, the talk topic was “Looking at autism through a sensory lens,” presented by Specialist Occupational Therapist Helen Cranstone. This event was a workshop-style presentation, encouraging discussion and exploration, of the challenges faced by autistic young people with additional needs.
As a Specialist Occupational Therapist, Helen specialists in sensory integration. She has worked in the fields of autism, learning disabilities and mental health for more than 25 years.

The talk was presented by Sharon Bentley who has two autistic sons, one of whom, Rowan is a young adult residing at Prior’s Court, as she speaks about how structure has supported her two sons' worlds and the amazing 'life changing' outcomes achieved.
The fundamentals of our specialist autism approach at Prior’s Court
This talk explored an overview of our Prior Approach, the specialist autism approach we use at Prior's Court. This talk was presented by three members of our staff - Emma Barnes, Therapy Lead; Kirk Smith, Healthiness Learning Specialist; and Ruth Over, Autism Practice and Development Lead.
