Job Description:
The breast feeding support service aims to increase the initiation and duration of breastfeeding in Fife by providing immediate and continuing support to pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers and their families, predominantly in their own homes.
We are looking an enthusiastic person to join our team to provide support to new mothers and families. You will work closely with midwifery and Health Visiting services to support families throughout their breastfeeding journey.
You will have community based experience of working with families, a sound knowledge of the importance of breastfeeding and early nutrition for maternal and infant health, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly establish positive and therapeutic relationships with families. Training in breastfeeding management will be given to meet the requirements of the post, but personal experience is highly desirable. A full orientation/induction package will be given for the successful candidate.
You will be based predominantly in Queen Margaret Hospital or Glenrothes/St Andrews but flexibility is required to meet the needs of the service and the ability to travel throughout Fife is essential.
A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.

If you are not a United Kingdom (UK) or Irish National, you are required to confirm your right to work in your application. We offer flexible working and family-friendly policies and fully support disabled candidates, and candidates with long-term conditions or who are neurodivergent by making reasonable adjustments to our recruitment policy and practices.
Please note the salary is pro rata for part time hours.
