We’re looking for a Group Tax Accountant to play a key role in ensuring Holiday Extras meets its UK and EU tax obligations, while supporting the preparation of our statutory accounts and Group audits. You’ll sit within our Group Finance team, working closely with colleagues across the business to provide robust tax compliance, clear financial insight and dependable support during reporting and audit cycles. This is a hands-on role with real breadth, offering exposure to a dynamic, multi-divisional, international business. At Holiday Extras, finance is a true partner to the business. The Role By joining our team you’ll: Take ownership on VAT and Corporation Tax compliance across the UK and relevant EU jurisdictions Prepare and submit UK and EU VAT returns, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Keep up to date with tax legislation and ensure compliance with evolving regulations Reconcile tax balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis Support the Group Financial Controller with the annual audit process Prepare the Group’s statutory financial statements and work closely with external auditors Provide information to external tax advisers and review corporation tax computations Contribute to ad hoc finance and tax projects led by the Group Financial Controller and Group CFO Requirements What you can bring to our team: Strong experience of UK and EU VAT compliance, with a clear understanding of how regulations apply in practice A professional accounting qualification (ACA or ACCA) with solid post-qualification experience Experience preparing annual statutory accounts and supporting audits, with the ability to work effectively with external auditors and advisers The ability to apply tax legislation in a balanced and practical way, balancing compliance with commercial reality in a fast-moving business Advanced spreadsheet skills, including complex formulas, reconciliations and data analysis, enabling you to work efficiently and accurately Clear and confident communication skills, allowing you to explain tax and financial matters to non-finance stakeholders in a straightforward, accessible way A collaborative approach in order to build trusted relationships across finance and the wider business Strong attention to detail alongside the ability fo manage tight, fixed deadlines without losing quality A proactive, self-motivated mindset, comfortable taking initiative and contributing to continuous improvement Experience with the Tour Operator Margin Scheme (TOMS) is advantageous, but not essential.
