Post No. POSN001051 - Business Support Administrator - First Contact Newport City Council is seeking a motivated and organised individual to join the Adult Services First Contact Team as a Business Support Administrator. This post offers an opportunity to work within Social Services, providing essential administrative support at the initial point of contact. The role focuses on coordination, administration and the accurate recording of information at the front door of Adult Services. The postholder will support the effective handling of enquiries and referrals, ensuring work is processed in a timely, organised and proportionate way. Working as part of the team, the postholder will support the First Contact function and work closely with operational teams, including Adult Safeguarding. The role includes uploading Duty to Report referrals onto the case management system, supporting the processing of incoming information, and sharing relevant information with the Adult Safeguarding Team to support appropriate responses. This is a key role in supporting the effective delivery of Adult Services, ensuring that processes are responsive, well-coordinated and support timely decision-making. Key Responsibilities - Support First Contact/Safeguarding processes and day-to-day administrative activity - Upload and process Duty to Reports and other referrals onto systems in line with procedures - Maintain accurate, up-to-date records across systems and databases - Share information appropriately with the Adult Safeguarding Team and wider services - Provide administrative support for service processes, including documentation and correspondence - Respond to queries and support the smooth running of the service - Liaise with internal teams and partners to support effective outcomes What We're Looking For You will have strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage competing demands and work effectively within a busy environment.
