We are seeking a highly organised and proactive ICT Technician to join our team and help deliver an excellent first line technical support across the school.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with previous technical support experience. looking, to develop their IT career in a supportive and fast‑paced environment. You will work closely with our IT Manager to provide comprehensive operational and technical ICT support through proactive maintenance and timely incident response. You will be the first point of contact to ensure that the school's IT systems are fully functional and provide response to troubleshooting staff and students questions and problems.
About the Role
* Provide high‑quality first‑line technical support to staff and students via phone, email and in person, resolving issues in line with service targets.
* Manage service desk tickets by recording, prioritising and updating requests, maintaining clear communication and contributing to continuous improvement.
* Configure, install, test and support end‑user devices (desktops, laptops, tablets), peripherals (printers, AV equipment) and classroom technologies, including building and deploying device images.
* Administer users, devices and groups in Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory and other school systems in line with joiner‑mover‑leaver processes.
* Maintain accurate asset and licence records, ensuring all hardware and software is inventoried and audited annually.
* Monitor backups and recovery processes, escalating issues and assisting with restorations when required.
* Apply security updates to systems and applications, ensuring compliance with ICT Manager guidance, and monitor endpoint protection and security alerts.
* Provide AV and IT support for assemblies, events and specialist SEND equipment.
* Deliver ICT induction for new staff, covering essential systems, acceptable use and data protection, and provide basic IT training where needed.
* Troubleshoot and escalate issues with key systems (e.g. MIS, Office 365, filtering, telephony) and liaise with suppliers for warranty repairs and quotations.
* Work in line with Health & Safety, safeguarding and cyber‑security requirements, reporting hazards, inappropriate use and potential risks promptly.

Essential:
* Right to work in the UK (Sponsorship is not available)
* Minimum GCSE Maths and English
* Previous experience in first line support
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Excellent IT skills, Microsoft Suite, MIS (Arbor)
* Ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines
* Ability to work sensitively with confidential information
A full current driving licence and own transport would be advantageous to enable travel to other schools within the Trust.
