This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to be part of rapidly expanding team thanks to a pilot program from the local ICB. This is a rare chance to be part of a developing service that will provide accessible and efficient care to the Children and Young people with epilepsy. As a strong clinical leader this role will lead on the strategic development and commissioning of clinical networks, provide patient‑focused care and create a collaborative approach with the multi‑disciplinary teams. The successful candidate will lead and support an experienced team by providing supervision to allow them to develop their interests in the area.


Responsibilities

* As a strong clinical leader the post holder will be required to implement and develop a service that is easily identifiable, highly visible and accessible to patients, carers and staff.
* This role will be accountable for the efficient and effective management of the Children's & Young Peoples Epilepsy Service across Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland (LLR).
* This post will lead on the strategic development and commissioning of the clinical networks, provide clinical leadership, drive patient‑focused care and create a collaborative approach with the multi‑disciplinary teams.
* Act as clinical lead & manager for the Paediatric Epilepsy nursing team. This will include managing sickness absence, appraisal & training, ensuring that all aspects of performance, attendance, training and appraisal are addressed in accordance with Trust Policy.
* Act as a recognised expert in the field of epilepsy nursing and provide professional leadership in all areas of practice in supporting colleagues to promote excellence in care.
* The post holder will analyse the impact of the Epilepsy Nurse Specialist across LLR their systems, processes, roles and responsibilities to identify change opportunities and recommend actions.
* Liaise with ward staff offering placements to students and insight visits to newly appointed staff.
