HGV Class 1 Driver –
Location: Lutterworth, Leicestershire

Join a Leading FMCG Logistics Operation – Class 1 Drivers Required
We are recruiting HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers for our busy Lutterworth site. This role involves delivering FMCG products across the UK using modern Scania automatic units and 40ft tri‑axle curtainside trailers.

The Role
1. Nationwide Class 1 trunking and delivery work
2. 1–3 drops per shift
3. Deliveries to DCs, wholesalers, and Cash & Carry customers
4. Some Aldi/Lidl deliveries (may require electric pallet truck use)
5. Occasional fridge work (pre‑set — no manual temp management required)
6. No handball
7. Potential return loads
8. Work may start from Lutterworth or run empty to: East Midlands Gateway, or London Gateway (Mars Contract)
Fleet & Equipment
9. Scania automatic trucks
10. 40ft tri‑axle curtainside trailers
11. Loads secured using internal straps and bungees
12. Well-maintained, modern equipment
Assessment Process
All drivers complete a structured onsite assessment, including:
13. Written exercise (incl. bridge awareness)
14. Driving assessment
15. Reverse onto a bay
16. Uncoupling & recoupling exercise
Driver Responsibilities
17. Safely operate Class 1 vehicles on FMCG routes
18. Follow all Drivers’ Hours, Tachograph, and WTD rules
19. Complete daily vehicle and trailer checks
20. Accurately complete PODs and all paperwork
21. Maintain communication with the Transport Office
22. Report any delays, issues, or load discrepancies
23. Work professionally and maintain strong fuel‑efficiency standards
Requirements
24. Minimum 6 Months Class 1 experience (flexibility considered)
25. Valid C+E licence, Driver CPC, and Digital Tachograph card
26. Maximum 6 penalty points (no DD/DR convictions)
27. Ability to work independently
28. Good communication skills and reliability

31. Weekend work available
32. Mostly day shifts
33. Consistent work profile with well-organised routes
