Stores Supervisor – Engineering & Manufacturing – Near South Nutfield, Redhill, Surrey

A respected engineering and manufacturing company Near Redhill, Surrey is looking for a Stores Supervisor to join their team and take ownership of inventory control and stock processes – helping to ensure production stays on track and on time.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in stores, logistics, or materials coordination to step into a key hands-on role where organisation, communication, and attention to detail are essential.
What you’ll do in this Stores Supervisor job
As Stores Supervisor, you’ll manage all aspects of stock control/ Inventory control within the production department – from goods-in to despatch, including overseeing parts sent for treatment. You’ll use an internal MRP system to ensure that materials are tracked and controlled accurately, and you’ll play a vital part in ensuring production teams have what they need, when they need it.
Key responsibilities include:
* Receiving and issuing stock and non-stock items
* Verifying that incoming deliveries are correct, undamaged, and meet quality standards
* Performing regular stocktakes and ensuring inventory levels are maintained
* Allocating materials for scheduled production work
* Updating and managing stock through the company’s MRP system
* Tracking goods ordered and expediting deliveries to meet production schedules
* Liaising with the Assembly Manager to ensure all parts are available before build starts
* Handling returns, unused spares, and reallocation of stock
* Overseeing the anodising process: preparation, documentation, dispatch, and returns
* Ensuring compliance with COSHH and safe handling of hazardous materials
* Wearing PPE and following Health & Safety procedures at all times
* Supporting the wider production team by anticipating supply needs and completing accurate records
What you’ll bring to this Stores Supervisor job
* This role is ideal for someone experienced in stores or stock control within an engineering or manufacturing environment. You’ll be methodical, reliable, and thrive in a role where planning, communication, and precision are key.
You should have:
* Previous experience working in a stores or inventory control role
* Knowledge of MRP or ERP systems
* A strong understanding of stock processes in a manufacturing environment
* The ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate documentation
* Familiarity with handling hazardous materials and following COSHH guidelines
* Good communication skills and a collaborative approach
