Overview

Are you passionate about inclusive education? Do you want to make a real difference to learners with complex needs? We're looking for a dynamic, compassionate, and skilled Specialist SEND Teacher to join our Foundation Learning department and help shape the future for our students. As our Specialist SEND Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality teaching and targeted interventions for learners across Foundation Learning programmes based at multiple college campuses. Supporting students with a range of complex needs, including those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, you\'ll ensure every learner has access to a consistent, engaging, and inclusive education. This is a varied and rewarding role involving everything from 1:1 and small group support for disengaged learners, to providing cover across programmes and advising colleagues on effective SEND and SEMH strategies. You\'ll be a calm and professional presence in the classroom, promoting emotional regulation, positive behaviour, and inclusive teaching across a dynamic and diverse provision. We have an exciting opportunity join our Foundation Learning Department as SEND Teacher on a fixed-term (until July 2026), full-time (35 hours per week) basis.

Responsibilities

* Deliver high-quality teaching and targeted interventions for learners across Foundation Learning programmes at multiple college campuses.
* Support students with a range of complex needs, including those with EHCPs and SEMH needs.
* Provide 1:1 and small-group support for disengaged learners and provide cover across programmes as needed.
* Advise colleagues on effective SEND and SEMH strategies and promote emotional regulation, positive behaviour, and inclusive teaching.

Qualifications and Career Development

* At The Manchester College, you will be supported by our Teaching Academy to work towards qualified teacher status for post-16 compulsory education, through a Cert Ed/PGCE. This includes 3-4 hours delivery per week and engagement with a mentor to support your progress in the profession while you work.
* Starting salary for an unqualified teacher is between £28,300.00 - £30,307.50.

Benefits

* It\'s a great way to kick-start a rewarding career with full training and support. Once you\'ve successfully qualified and demonstrated your teaching competence, you\'ll progress to the qualified teacher salary banding.
* Consideration will be given to relevant industry experience and skills with the flexibility to offer increased starting salaries in some circumstances.
* 45 days annual leave bookable plus 8 bank holidays (FTE).
* 3 well-being days per year (FTE).
* Significant pension contribution.
* Retail discounts.
* Employee Assistance Program.
