What will you be doing?
Purpose of the Role: We seek a Web Manager (Unpaid Volunteer) to support our website upgrade, digital and fundraising strategy, manage WordPress sites, optimise user experience, and drive results through improved web performance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and optimise WordPress sites
* Ensure consistency in brand messaging across all web properties, optimise user experience (UX), and maximise conversion opportunities
* Revamp donation system and develop our new fundraising system using Stripe donations while ensuring compliance to prevent scam donations and money laundering
* Regular updates and improvements: review and update web presence, emerging trends, and best practices
* Develop and install a Membership system for people joining AHO; AHO is becoming a membership organisation to empower members to decide how AHO is managed and to generate income through membership fees
* Build and develop an Online Shop: first stage virtual shop for project items; second stage online shop for physical goods
* Design and build health tools (e.g., BMI index scales, health quizzes, medical screenings, assessments, questionnaires) to enhance interactivity and educational value
* Expand and add new sections to showcase projects and impact through stories, videos, and case studies
* Performance optimisation: enhance search engine rankings and overall website performance through expert-level SEO
* Analytics and reporting: track and analyse web traffic, sales metrics, and marketing data
* References: references may be sought before interview and offer
What are we looking for?
Essential Knowledge & Experience
* Minimum 3 years in WordPress design and management and digital marketing
* Proficiency in WordPress Multisite management and web hosting
* Strong knowledge of donation platforms and systems such as Stripe
* Strong knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL and database optimisation
* Skilled in front-end and back-end development
* Expertise in UX/UI design principles, conversion rate optimisation, and web performance
* Digital marketing: proven ability in SEO, paid advertising, and leveraging the Google Marketing Platform
* Security: knowledge of website security best practices and data privacy compliance
* Analytical skills: ability to interpret KPIs and marketing data and use insights to drive performance
* Project management: experience managing digital campaigns, working with agencies, and delivering results
* Knowledge and experience of digital charity fundraising and regulations in the UK, EU, the US
* Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON and third-party integrations
* Knowledge of Gutenberg development and modern WordPress coding standards
Qualifications
* Degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Information Technology, Digital Marketing, Business Administration and Management, Marketing, Sales, or related field
