Design and Technology (DT) Teacher

Pay: To scale (MPS/UPS)
Start Date: January 2026
Hours: Full time (Mon-Fri, term time only)
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic DT teacher to join a fantastic secondary school in Birmingham, B37. This opportunity will allow the successful candidate to showcase their passion and allow them to inspire students to develop their practical and theoretical abilities within the world of Design & Technology.
Ideal Person Specification:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (PGCE with no QTS also encouraged to apply)
Proven track record teaching DT in a UK based secondary school
Confident with behaviour management and strong classroom presence
Excellent subject and curriculum based knowledge
Specialise in 1 DT subject but confident to cover across the DT curriculum as a whole
Ability to motivate and engage pupils of all year groups and abilities
Job Role/Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging DT lessons across KS3 and KS4 (and KS5 where applicable)
Regularly assess pupil progress and provide them with feedback to support their learning and development
Create differentiated learning experiences to support and challenge all students, ensuring every learner achieves their potential
Maintain a safe and well-organised classroom environment, demonstrating excellent practice in the use of equipment and tolls where applicable
Promote high standards of health and safety within all aspects of the subject area
Contribute to the wider school community through enrichment activities and departmental development
