GSL Education are seeking to appoint a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to support schools in Barnsley’s S70 and S71 areas, helping pupils access the curriculum and achieve their potential in a safe, inclusive environment. As a SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistant, you will support teachers in delivering tailored guidance for pupils of all abilities, ensuring every child can succeed. This role provides the opportunity to make a lasting impact on young people’s learning and development. Core Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one or small-group support to pupils with additional needs. Assist teachers in implementing personalised learning plans. Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural development. Help maintain a structured and safe classroom environment. Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers. Requirements: Experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational role. Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills. Ability to adapt support to meet individual pupil needs. Knowledge of safeguarding and inclusive teaching practices. An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
