Role: Young Peoples Project Worker Salary: £25,350 pa Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week Contract: Maternity Cover (November start) Responsible to : CYP Manager Role Requirements Previous experience of working with children and young people. Work with young people, identifying their individual support needs, to provide a tailored support package. Assess young people in a holistic way and produce safety plans within child protection framework. Deliver one-to-one and group support sessions to young people using a range of social, therapeutic, learning and development activities. Work as part of a multi-agency response to meet the needs of young people. Make the necessary referrals to relevant agencies and work with these agencies to promote safeguarding and the wellbeing of the child or young person. Knowledge and understanding of child protection legislation and guidance and the complexities surrounding domestic abuse and safeguarding. An understanding of the impact that domestic abuse has on children and young people. Able to work effectively with external professionals and agencies e.g. DSL, Social Worker Maintain a clear understanding of the effects of domestic abuse on young people and to be informed about relevant legislation and local and national policy in relation to young people and the role An ability to select, design and/or adapt course material appropriate to the age and needs of the target group. The ability to work and liaise with schools to organise Healthy Relationship sessions within their setting along with the capacity to deliver planned sessions to whole class groups Able to plan, facilitate, keep accurate records and provide monitoring and evaluation information, as requested Review case work as part of the supervision process Take active steps to work within a framework of equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice Adhere to FCWA policies and procedures · Contribute to the Health and Safety of everyone involved with the service To take all reasonable steps to ensure that work with the young people is sensitive around cultural and religious backgrounds and any special needs. Able to manage difficult and/or challenging behaviours. Knowledge of Child Protection legislation and safeguarding procedures. A good knowledge and understanding of reporting and dealing with disclosures. Respectful, articulate and sensitive in your style of communication, having strong verbal and written skills. Experience of using computer based systems to record information accurately. Ability to use computer packages i.e. PowerPoint, Zoom, MS Teams. Ability to work on own initiative and effectively as part of a team. To have excellent time management and organisational skills. To attend and participate in supervision sessions and staff meetings. To undertake any relevant training.
