Email Marketing Manager

An international not for profit publisher dedicated to advancing environmental science and sustainability research is seeking an Email Marketing Manager to lead its growing email function and join their friendly and collaborative team near Oxford. This is a newly created role with responsibility for developing a high quality, data driven approach to audience engagement, supported by one Email Marketing Executive.
Key Responsibilities
* Developing and overseeing the email marketing strategy to improve engagement, lead generation and retention across diverse audience segments
* Planning, creating and deploying email campaigns, automation journeys and nurture flows
* Balancing creative and technical elements, including content creation, template editing, segmentation and A/B testing
* Ensuring high standards of deliverability, list quality, data management and compliance with regulations such as GDPR
* Monitoring engagement metrics, producing regular performance reports and making data driven recommendations for ongoing optimisation
* Maintaining a strong sender reputation through proactive list hygiene and audience segmentation
* Managing and mentoring the Email Marketing Executive, supporting their development and workload
* Using HTML to refine templates and troubleshoot issues where required
* Working with internal teams and using project management tools to coordinate campaigns effectively
Requirements
* Experience with email marketing platforms and CRM systems, ideally including Pardot or Salesforce Marketing Cloud
* Analytical mindset with excellent organisational skills
* Ability to balance strategy with hands-on delivery
