Responsibilities
* Develop bid lists and assemble Requests for Quotations (RFQ's), managing the RFQ process in line with procurement procedures.
* Evaluate bidder responses to the RFQ document.
* Make shortlist recommendations to the Supply Chain Manager and operational teams, highlighting distinguishing factors, risks, and rationale behind recommendations.
* Conduct final negotiations with preferred supplier(s) and prepare (sub)contracts/purchase orders in compliance with governance procedures.
* Monitor supplier performance and manage claims/change orders.
* Review invoices for accuracy.
* Liaise with the operational team to assist with resolution of supply issues.
* Where appropriate, establish long‑term supplier relationships focusing on value for money, service & product quality, and continuous improvement to drive competitive advantage for the business.
Qualifications
* Proven capability of working within a procurement team carrying out procurement activities including negotiation, production of (sub)contracts/purchase orders and process compliance.
* Extensive knowledge of commercial procurement laws and standards as they relate to Amentum's operations management and operational delivery.
* Excellent communications and writing skills, able to effectively author contractual commitment documents, and internal and external communications.
* Proficient in using computer systems for supply management, including supply management software (Oracle / SAP, etc.) and MS Office, using Excel or other tools for basic data analysis.
* Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in supply management or related fields, preferably in an R&D/specialist laboratory setting.
* MCIPS or MRICS desirable.
* Working knowledge of NEC contracts desirable.
