About the job
As a Community Development Co-ordinator, you will lead the delivery of a community-focused programme aimed at fostering local ownership and improving environmental quality. Your role will involve building and maintaining partnerships and networks to boost community involvement in managing public spaces, coordinating volunteer initiatives, and ensuring accurate data collection and reporting.
You will also be responsible for designing and implementing projects in collaboration with partners, planning and managing local activities and events, and using communication channels—including social media—to keep the community informed and engaged.
In addition, you will support the Waste Campaigns Team in delivering campaigns that promote waste reduction, reuse, and recycling to a wide range of stakeholders. This includes ensuring high-quality messaging at relevant events and providing one-to-one support to residents on waste-related issues.
What We Are Looking For From You
The successful candidate will have a strong background in front-line environmental operations and experience supervising teams and working with volunteers or community groups. We value individuals who can effectively seek and understand others' views, demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, and have a positive attitude towards new challenges and adaptability to change
In addition, the successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisation. You will need to be able to multi-task, take ownership of issues and be IT literate in most Microsoft packages.
