Faith Leader – Campsfield IRC
Campsfield IRC is due to open soon as the UK's first all-electric Immigration Removal Centre, providing custody services. We are looking for respectful, diligent and caring colleagues to join our team.
Job objectives and responsibilities
To assist in delivering a comprehensive programme of worship and teaching opportunities for all faiths in line with contractual requirements, company standards and resident needs
Main duties
* Promote, facilitate and deliver opportunities for worship and study for a faith groups including all necessary arrangements or protocols in line with contractual requirements, company standards and resident needs.
* Facilitate and deliver services, programmes, activities and visits, liaising with external religious contractors, accredited religious representatives and volunteers to meet contractual requirements, company standards and resident needs.
* Assist in the development of links with outside faith communities so the support provided within the Centre is current, in line with best practice and caters for all faiths.
* Contribute to the maintenance of the dedicated faith areas ensuring an appropriate environment is provided.
* Acquire and distribute within home faith group, after appropriate agreement and authorisation, religious literature, supplies and materials allowing residents to fully discharge their commitment to their faith.
* Advise the Religious Affairs Manager, religious team and operational management team of relevant religious events including festivals, fasts, feasts to ensure that wherever reasonably possible residents can fully observe them.
* Maintain a stock of appropriate religious artefacts for a faith group which will allow residents to fully discharge their commitment to their faith.
* Provide pastoral care to residents, staff and their families to assist in their safety, care and well-being.
Person Specification
This is a specialist position requiring appropriate qualifications and experience of organising and leading religious services.
Health and Safety responsibilities
* Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times
* Adhere to agreed outreach methods and risk assessment to ensure own personal safety dealing with service users
* Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment
* Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received.
Information Security
* Ensure compliance with Mitie's information security procedures in all activities
* Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager
* Report actual and suspected security incidents.
Specific Requirements

* You must be a British Citizen, EU citizen with settled status, or have an ILR (Indefinite Leave to Remain) from a Commonwealth country.
* Bankruptcy history, CCJs, social media activity and criminal convictions will be checked.
* You must have lived in the UK for the past three years with no significant footprint outside of the UK other than for normal holidays.
