Assistant/Junior Surveyor - Super Prime Construction and Maintenance

Our client is a well-established, privately owned Prime Residential Developer based in Kensington, London. With over 20 years of experience, they are known for delivering ultra high-end, bespoke single-dwelling residences in the London Super Prime market.
The company has a multidisciplinary leadership team, ensuring each project is meticulously planned and executed to the highest standards. All projects are bespoke, with build costs typically around £10 million and resale values ranging from £20-£30 million.
They employ an in-house construction team, managing projects directly and working closely with specialist subcontractors. Their portfolio includes new developments and high-end residential properties in Chelsea and Kensington.
The Role:
Seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Surveyor to support their Senior Surveyor and Technical Director across property management and high-end construction responsibilities. This role is ideal for a graduate with a few years of experience in Building Surveying or Quantity Surveying who has a hands-on approach and a strong willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
* Construction (Live Project): Review and update project documentation, conduct measured surveys, help resolve site queries, measure and plan materials from drawings, coordinate work schedules, liaise with suppliers, obtain quotes, and manage purchasing for accurate site deliveries.
* Site Reporting & Quality Control: Oversee maintenance works, monitor site progress, inspect for accuracy and quality, resolve defects, and maintain project records, including photographic documentation.
* Setting Out & Site Supervision: Support setting out work, monitor subcontractors, ensure compliance with plans, and manage snagging and remedial works.
* Property Management & Maintenance: Address tenant concerns, investigate and resolve maintenance issues, oversee defect rectification during warranty periods, and conduct routine inspections.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
* Essential: 1-6 years of experience in building or quantity surveying.
* Practical, problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and within a team.
* Good technical knowledge of construction materials and methodologies.
* Some experience with setting out and quality control is preferred.
