Renishaw’s Machine Tool Products division is a market leader in measurement equipment and software for the precision manufacturing industry. It is likely that many of the everyday items you may use, from the smartphone or laptops you are reading this on to cars and aircraft have been manufactured using one of our products.
We have a reputation for supporting set-up and measurement on the widest possible range of CNC controls. The Machine Tool Product’s division now seeks a new team member to write, test and support the measuring cycles that will be supplied with Renishaw machine tool probes.
Duties will include introducing new technologies, as well as translating, converting and updating our very diverse range of measuring cycles for Milling, Turning, Multi-Tasking and 5-axis machines.
The position will particularly focus on support of key Machine Tool Builders in the markets of Japan, Germany, the USA and Far East. Therefore, travel to UK sites to complete testing activities, and occasional foreign travel to commission new cycles and train subsidiary engineers will be required.
Responsibilities
* Develop CNC measuring cycles and supporting documentation for various machine tool controllers, typically Fanuc, Siemens, Mazak, Okuma or Heidenhain.
* Create and conduct on-machine development tests for new hardware products within the division.
* Support Renishaw subsidiaries and customers, providing technical assistance on new integrations.
* Conduct training of Renishaw subsidiary staff and customers.
* Work with the Technical Publications department to produce draft user documentation.
Key Requirements
* Educated to a minimum of HNC level (or equivalent) in an Engineering or STEM related discipline.
* Proven practical expertise in the use of CNC machines (either Fanuc/Meldas/Haas/Mazak/Okuma, Siemens or Heidenhain controllers).
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
Desirable
* Experienced CNC programmer with comprehensive knowledge of ISO programming techniques and a broad understanding of 5-axis machining practices.
* Confidence with installation of electro-mechanical hardware onto CNC machines.
* Familiarity with machine tool commissioning or turn-key applications.
* Familiarity with computer programming techniques.
* Customer facing experience in a technical role.
* Ability to convey technical information to a group of people.
* Experience with Atlassian software management tools.
