Workshop Engineer - Medical Equipment
Location: Bolton
Our client provides a full range of clinical trial services and is seeking a Workshop Engineer to support their medical equipment and ancillaries function. This position is ideal for someone with solid hands-on experience across a variety of medical devices who is looking to broaden their technical scope. The role offers exposure to continuous improvement initiatives, direct client interaction, and opportunities to influence processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide remote technical support and guidance to clients.
* Assist with servicing, maintenance, and calibration of medical equipment within the workshop.
* Take ownership of proposing improvements to technical and servicing procedures.
* Communicate medical device information, including updates to policies, guidelines, and regulations, to internal and external stakeholders.
* Diagnose, repair, and troubleshoot malfunctioning devices.
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
* Manage inventory of spare parts and development of maintenance schedules.
What You Will Need
* Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience with medical equipment.
* Confidence in acting as a key point of contact for clients and internal teams.
* Good physical fitness, as the role involves workshop-based manual duties.
Desirable Experience
Experience with any of the following equipment would be highly advantageous:
* Infusion systems (ambulatory, syringe, and volumetric infusion pumps)
* Patient monitoring equipment
* Diagnostic and ambulatory ECG/EKG systems, Holter monitors, and stress-test equipment
* Ophthalmic devices
* Centrifuges and refrigeration equipment
* Point-of-care (POC) devices
* Haematology analysers
