Role summary for the Reception Teacher
The Reception Teacher will design play-based continuous provision, lead daily phonics and story sessions and plan early mathematics routines. The Reception Teacher will use assessment to personalise learning, lead family engagement workshops and support smooth transition to Year 1. The Reception Teacher will receive mentoring and CPD starting at induction in January 2026 and will teach from January 2026 as the Part-Time Reception Teacher.
Reception Teacher — responsibilities
• Lead systematic phonics, guided reading and language-rich sessions as the Reception Teacher.
• Use observation-led assessment to inform planning as the Reception Teacher.
• Coordinate with teaching assistants, run parent workshops and contribute to whole-school events as the Reception Teacher.
• Develop outdoor learning provision and community outreach projects that the Reception Teacher will plan prior to January 2026 and deliver after January 2026.
