Job Title: Support Worker (LIFT Project) Location: Sheffield Job Type: Full-Time About Us Target Housing is a charity and registered social landlord with over 30 years’ experience supporting vulnerable people. We take a psychologically and trauma-informed approach to help individuals achieve independence, sustain tenancies, and build better futures. Role Overview We are seeking a Support Worker to deliver high-quality housing-related support within our LIFT project. You will work closely with service users to help them maintain their tenancies, develop independent living skills, and achieve personal goals. Key Responsibilities Support service users to move into, maintain, and transition from accommodation Deliver person-centred support plans and review progress regularly Empower individuals to build confidence, independence, and life skills Assist with budgeting, benefits, and managing personal finances Ensure service users understand and meet tenancy obligations, including rent payments Monitor property condition and occupancy, addressing any issues promptly Conduct risk assessments and maintain accurate records Support individuals in resolving conflicts and building positive relationships Work collaboratively with external agencies and professionals Contribute to activities that promote wellbeing and community engagement Participate in on-call duties, team meetings, and training Person Specification Knowledge of the welfare benefits system Experience in risk assessment and support planning Experience working with vulnerable adults or in supported housing Understanding of relevant legislation Ability to work in partnership with external agencies NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (desirable) Key Competencies Customer focus and integrity Strong teamwork and communication skills Sound judgment and confidence in decision-making Good planning and organisational ability Relevant technical knowledge Benefits 28 days of Annual Leave plus 8 Bank Holidays Allocated training Mileage Compensation Access Membership to Westfield Health & Lifetime Financial Ability to apply for the Blue Light card Employer Contributory Company pension scheme (4%) A supportive culture where staff feedback is highly valued and regular supervisions with line managers are conducted
