Role Overview
We are looking for an ambitious and results-driven Business Development Manager to support the continued growth of our Waste Management division. This role is key to expanding our client base, with a particular focus on securing new partnerships with organisations requiring multi-site waste management solutions across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
Business Growth & Account Development
* Work closely with the existing waste management team to identify and develop opportunities within the current portfolio.
* Drive the expansion of waste management services across new and existing clients nationwide.
Client Relationship Management
* Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships.
* Develop a deep understanding of client needs and position managed services as tailored solutions.
Consultative Sales Approach
* Conduct detailed needs assessments and present appropriate service solutions.
* Collaborate with internal waste account managers to ensure a smooth onboarding process and seamless client experience.
Proposal & Tender Management
* Prepare high-quality, tailored proposals aligned to client requirements.
* Support the full sales cycle from initial engagement through to final submission.
Negotiation & Deal Closure
* Address client queries, negotiate commercial terms, and successfully close new business opportunities.
Market & Industry Insight
* Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes to effectively position services.
Networking & Business Development
* Represent the business at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to build brand presence and generate leads.
Collaboration & Delivery
* Work cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure smooth transition and ongoing service delivery for new clients.
Reporting & Forecasting
* Maintain accurate records of sales activity, pipeline, and revenue forecasts.
* Provide regular updates and insights to senior management.
Skills & Experience
* Industry Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role, with a solid understanding of the waste management or utilities sector.
* Client-Focused: Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to understand and respond to client needs.
* Results-Driven: Demonstrated success in achieving or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
* Self-Motivated: Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver against objectives.
* Team-Oriented: Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across teams.
* Adaptable: Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving industry environment.
* Mobility: Willingness to travel regularly between Grantham, Leicester, and client locations.
