About the role
Bishop Auckland College is seeking to recruit a 1.0 Lecturer Coordinator in English who will be responsible for teaching GCSE and/or functional skills English as part of an experienced and supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a newly qualified or experienced teacher with the potential to be involved in improving student outcomes and to train to become a qualified teacher while earning a salary if you have a degree in English.
Key responsibilities
* deliver GCSE and functional skills English lessons to pupils in a college setting
* participate in curriculum planning and assessment for the English program
* engage safeguarding duties and contribute to regulated activity within the post
* support a positive and inclusive learning environment for all learners
Qualifications and experience
* hold or be willing to work towards a Certificate in Education within 2 years
* possess or be working towards a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject (or currently working towards)
* have recent experience of teaching in further education, a training establishment, or demonstrate potential in an interview process
* demonstrate the ability to teach functional skills Mathematics is an advantage
Benefits and working hours
* Grade: harmonised pay scale points 23-35 (£26,736.10 - £36,527.13 per annum)
* Hours: 37 hours per week, permanent position
* Post No.: RS25/26/91
* Compressed working week: College closes at noon on Fridays
