We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant school community. This role combines classroom support with pastoral care, making a real difference in the lives of our pupils.

Primary Teaching Assistant with Pastoral Support Responsibilities
Location: Burnley
Hours: Full-time
Contract: Temporary – view to go permanent
Salary: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

* Support teaching and learning across EYFS/KS1/KS2, working closely with class teachers.
* Provide one-to-one and small group interventions to help pupils achieve their potential.
* Assist in creating a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
* Offer pastoral support to pupils, helping them manage emotions, build resilience, and feel safe and supported.
* Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies to support pupil wellbeing.
* Contribute to safeguarding and behaviour management strategies.

We’re looking for someone who:

* Has experience working with primary-aged children (school or childcare setting).
* Demonstrates empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to pupil welfare.
* Has strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Is proactive, flexible, and able to adapt to the needs of the day.
* Holds a relevant TA qualification or is willing to work towards one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
