Support Workers/Rehabilitation Assistants Needed
We are seeking dedicated and empathetic Support Workers/Rehabilitation Assistants to join the care team in a close-knit family setting, supporting an adult client with an acquired brain injury with all aspects of daily living. This is a deeply rewarding opportunity to make a lasting impact on the quality of life of an individual and their family.
Our client is a 34 year old young lady who has a osmotic brain injury who has very limited speech. She has a great sense of humour and loves being in the company of others including her daughter, family and her support workers. Support workers are to keep the client involved in activities, activities with the clients daughter who enjoys going out shopping and following social media trends.
The client likes doing sensory activities support workers, which includes different sensory touch activities, Bingo, painting, doing handover hand activities as well as listening to music and relaxing in her chair.
The role involves providing tailored, two-to-one support to the client in their home and community. You will work collaboratively with family members, therapists, and other professionals to promote independence, take part in therapy programs, and support with emotional wellbeing. You will provide practical and emotional support to a client with a brain injury in their day-to-day activities, assist with therapeutic programs as set out by healthcare professionals (e.g. physiotherapy, occupational therapy, psychological support).You will be expected to support family members, offering understanding and sensitivity to their lived experience of trauma and be a source of support to reduce stress.
Key to the role is to promote the client’s independence and dignity and facilitate community access and social activities.
You will need to maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team.
Applicants must have previous experience working with clients with an acquired brain injury or complex care needs, ideally in their own home. You must also have previous experience administering medication and the use of PEG.
Hours of work
36-48 working per week
Rates of Pay
Weekday £14.00 per hour
Weekend £14.00 per hour
Sleep in Shifts £9.88 per hour
Bank Holiday £21.00 per hour
Due to the nature of the role an enhanced check with The Disclosure and Barring Service will be required.
