Due to our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and talented Second in Department for Science to join our dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a leadership role and help shape the future of the Science department at a dynamic, forward-thinking school.

Key Responsibilities:
* Leadership & Collaboration: Lead, inspire, and motivate students and colleagues. Work closely with the Head of Science to develop and implement departmental strategies.
* Teaching: Deliver high-quality Science lessons to all key stages (KS3-5), with a special focus on Chemistry/Physics. Teach students of all abilities and ensure each individual is supported to succeed.
* Curriculum Development: Contribute to the ongoing development of the curriculum, offering innovative ideas and strategies to engage students.
* Extra-Curricular Activities: Develop and lead extra-curricular activities that foster a love of Science, including clubs, competitions, or enrichment programs.
* Data-Driven Teaching: Use data effectively to monitor student progress and tailor teaching to meet individual needs, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to excel.
* SEND Support: Ensure the needs of students with SEND are met within the classroom, offering tailored support to help them achieve their full potential.
* Teamwork & Professional Development: Work collaboratively with colleagues, contributing to the continuous improvement of the department and the school as a whole. Take on leadership responsibilities within the department.

About You:
* Specialism in Chemistry/Physics: Ideally, you will have a specialism in Chemistry or Physics and experience teaching these subjects at KS5.
* Experience: Proven experience in teaching Science across KS3-5. Experience with SEND students is essential.
* Leadership Skills: A natural leader with the ability to motivate and guide both students and staff. Experience in curriculum development and departmental leadership is highly desirable.
* Innovative & Passionate: A teacher who is passionate about Science and able to inspire students to develop a deep love for the subject. Able to bring fresh ideas to the curriculum and teaching strategies.
* Data-Informed: Comfortable using data to assess and support student progress and ensure that all students can succeed.
* Versatile: While you will primarily teach Science at secondary level, the ability to teach primary-age students would be advantageous.
