Why this role matters Your work will help ensure vital marine assets are built and maintained to the highest standards — supporting life-saving operations across the UK and beyond. This is a chance to be part of a team where your planning, coordination, and technical support help keep boats on the water and people safe.
What you’ll be doing Working within a modern production facility, you’ll coordinate between Engineering and Production teams, ensuring that build instructions and technical documentation are accurate, timely, and effectively delivered. You’ll play a pivotal role in planning and tracking projects, keeping them on schedule and aligned with technical requirements.
Key responsibilities:
Plan and maintain detailed production schedules for ongoing projects, estimating task durations and collaborating with engineers, technicians and managers.
Translate technical data into user-friendly work instructions, drawings and job cards for the production team.
Control and distribute accurate documentation in line with build and project plans.
Provide technical support for production, refit, and maintenance tasks.
Investigate production challenges and lead the problem-solving process using continuous improvement tools.
Support communication of engineering changes/modifications to the shop floor.
Develop visual management tools to monitor and report on project progress and production performance.
Work closely with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure all materials, parts, and documentation are in place.
Handle COSHH, MSDS/REACH and other compliance documentation.
Step into other production-related responsibilities when required.
Embrace and promote a culture of continuous improvement across the production environment.
What we’re looking for You’ll be someone who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, and who enjoys solving problems and working collaboratively across departments.
Must-haves:
HNC/HND or equivalent in engineering, production or project management
Experience in small boat production or similar marine/manufacturing environments
Strong understanding of composite and mechanical systems, and related build processes
Experience using Lean/Continuous Improvement tools on the shop floor
Ability to translate design drawings into practical build documentation
Nice-to-haves:
MS Project or Microsoft Dynamics AX experience
Previous work with marine compliance documentation or regulated builds
You’ll fit in well if you:
Communicate clearly across technical and non-technical teams
Stay organised and calm under pressure
Are motivated by doing work that makes a real-world impact
Have a proactive attitude to improving processes and teamwork
Are commercially aware and confident navigating multiple stakeholders
This is more than just a technical coordination role — it’s an opportunity to contribute to a mission that really matters. If you're passionate about engineering excellence and want to be part of a high-performing, purpose-led team, we’d love to hear from you.
