The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering ecological consultancy services across a wide range of projects. Responsibilities will include managing ecological surveys, producing technical reports, supporting planning applications, and mentoring junior team members. The role offers a balance of fieldwork, project management, client liaison, and technical delivery, with opportunities to contribute to business growth and team development.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing and delivering ecological projects from inception through to completion
* Undertaking and overseeing protected species and habitat surveys
* Preparing high‑quality technical reports including PEAs, EcIAs, BNG assessments, and mitigation strategies
* Providing ecological advice to clients, planners, and project teams
* Supporting project management, budgeting, and programme delivery
* Mentoring junior ecologists and assisting with team development
* Maintaining strong client relationships and identifying new business opportunities
Requirements
* Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or related discipline
* Significant consultancy experience within the UK ecology sector
* Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy
* Experience managing projects and coordinating survey programmes
* Protected species survey licences desirable
* CIEEM membership preferred
* Excellent report writing and communication skills
* Full UK driving licence
