Mechanical Design Engineer
Hull, East Yorkshire • £40,000 - £45,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits
The Role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will take ownership of design activities across multiple projects, working closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality, precision‑engineered solutions.
Key responsibilities
* Leading mechanical design across new product development projects
* Producing detailed 3D CAD models and assemblies (SolidWorks)
* Creating high‑precision engineering drawings for manufacture
* Applying design‑for‑manufacture (DFM) principles and liaising with suppliers
* Supporting prototyping, testing, and design verification
* Collaborating with electronics, software, and manufacturing teams
* Providing technical support to production and driving continuous improvement

Qualifications
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
* Experience in a mechanical design role
* Strong SolidWorks or 3D CAD skills
* Experience working to tight tolerances and precision standards
* Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes
* Strong communication skills and the ability to manage your own workload
