Job Description
Shift: Monday-Friday 14:00pm-22:00pm.
Salary: £24,375 per annum.
Health and Safety/Food Safety:
* Ensure full understanding and total compliance with all Food Safety regulations and Health and Safety rules
* Ensure all kitchen activities are carried out in a clean and safe manner, in accordance with Company policies and procedures
* Ensure protective clothing is worn and protective equipment is used as appropriate
* Be able to spot potential equipment breakdowns and notify management accordingly
Sales:
* Maximise sales at the site by preparing food to a high standard and presentation
* Ensure that there is adequate stock of all foods on menu advising management of any shortages
Customer Service:
* Avoid customer complaints by ensuring food is prepared and presented satisfactorily to every customer
* Be fully aware of site promotions with regard to menu offers
Costs:
* Ensure all food has been correctly proportioned to minimise waste and control expenditure at the site
* Ensure that all food has been prepared to a high standard first time, every time.
Other Duties:
* Clean and maintain all preparation equipment
* Know how to operate the dishwasher efficiently and effectively
* Collect, clean and restock all crockery, glassware and cutlery, ensuring that they are cleaned properly and in a sanitary condition
* Regularly clean and descale the dishwasher
* Know and use the correct procedures for cleaning pots and pans
* Keep food storage areas neat and orderly
* Clean and reset tables in the restaurant
* Carry out cleaning duties in accordance with daily, weekly and monthly schedules
* Clean and mop kitchen floors
* Attend site/communications meetings as required
* Attend courses as required
* Attend an annual appraisal and quarterly reviews as required
* Complete all reasonable additional duties/projects as requested by Supervisor/Manager
Qualifications
Essential:
* Basic Food Hygiene
* Basic Health and safety
* Fire training
Desirable:
* A knowledge of the operation of the kitchen and till equipment would be desirable
* A knowledge of working in catering operations would be desirable
