What you will do
You will join the building services design team as a Mechanical Design Engineer or Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, specializing in building services. You will mainly work on rail related schemes, not just in the UK; they also deliver schemes in Dubai and Europe from York. This means you could contribute to some of the world\'s largest rail projects from your home office or their relaxing workplace. You will be comfortable with all aspects of mechanical building services design and be used to working within a BIM environment beyond Revit, as this team leads in collaborative working.
The role requires a credible, professional approach when working with partners. An interest in sustainability and building physics is encouraged, as the focus on sustainability is central to their projects.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to mechanical building services design across rail projects (UK, Dubai, Europe).
* Operate within a BIM environment beyond Revit and support collaborative workflows.
* Engage with stakeholders and deliver high-quality design outputs within project timelines.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet sustainability and performance goals.
Qualifications and experience
* Building services design background; specialist in this sector required.
* Chartered status is beneficial; if you are pursuing it, the employer will provide support. If not pursued, valuable on-the-job experience is still valued.
* The role values practical experience even if Chartered status is not yet achieved.
* Interest in building physics and sustainability is welcome.
* Experience in BIM and collaborative working environments is essential.
* Experience on large rail infrastructure projects is advantageous.
