This is a Religious Studies teaching role across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach A Level Religious Studies or Philosophy for the right candidate.

The RS curriculum is thoughtful, challenging and designed to spark curiosity. Pupils explore a wide range of beliefs, ethical debates and philosophical ideas, learning to question, reflect and engage respectfully with different perspectives.

Topics might include religion and society, ethics, philosophy, justice, identity and moral decision making. Lessons encourage discussion, critical thinking and open-minded exploration. It’s a subject that helps students understand the world and their place within it.

This isn’t about memorising facts. It’s about meaningful conversations, thoughtful enquiry and helping young people develop empathy, curiosity and confidence in their own thinking.


The department

You’ll be joining a welcoming and collaborative Humanities faculty made up of Geography, History and Religious Studies specialists. It’s a team that plans together, shares ideas freely and supports one another.

The wider academy

One of the academy’s real strengths is its year-based system, creating a nurturing environment where pupils feel known and supported throughout their time in school. Older students take on leadership roles, model positive behaviour and help shape the school community, all rooted in those shared values of aspiration, respect and excellence.

Beyond the classroom, there’s a strong extra-curricular programme across sport, creativity and academic enrichment. Debate clubs, philosophy discussions, trips and wider reading opportunities help bring learning to life and encourage pupils to explore ideas more deeply.

Start dates

Flexible start dates are available from January 2026, April 2026 or September 2026.

Applications are welcomed from both ECTs and experienced Religious Studies teachers.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
