You will be joining a well-established housing organisation based in Cardiff, recognised for its strong community focus, collaborative culture, and commitment to delivering high-quality services.Due to increased workload and ongoing projects within the finance function, they are now looking to appoint a Finance Officer on a 12-month fixed-term contract. As a Finance Officer, you will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting the day-to-day running of the finance function. You will be involved in both transactional finance and reporting activities, working closely with the wider team.Your responsibilities will include:
* Managing income processes, including invoicing, income allocation and collections
* Supporting expenditure processing, including supplier invoices and payments
* Reconciling purchase and sales ledgers, ensuring accuracy and completeness
* Maintaining accurate records across accounts payable and receivable
* Monitoring debtor balances and supporting credit control activities
* Assisting with month-end processes, including reconciliations and reporting
* Preparing reports such as aged debtors/creditors and cashflow information
* Supporting improvements in finance processes, systems and controls
* Working with internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and queries
What you'll need to succeed
* Previous experience within a finance, accounts or transactional role
* Strong understanding of reconciliations, invoicing and ledger processes
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
* Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
* Experience using finance systems and Microsoft Excel
* AAT qualification or studying is desirable but not essential
