Section Engineer - Devonport (MOD Project)
Location: Plymouth - Devonport (100% site-based)
Rate: c. £450 per day (Umbrella PAYE)
Contract: Contract role
Hours: 45 per week (approx. 07:30-17:00)
The Role
Were looking for a hands-on Section Engineer to join a major, long-term construction programme at Devonport. Working within a live MOD environment, youll be embedded on site, reporting directly to the WRB / Building Lead, providing essential engineering, setting-out and technical support to keep works moving safely and accurately.
This is a proper site role-ideal for someone who enjoys being close to the work, solving problems in real time, and driving quality on a complex, regulated project.
BPSS clearance required (can take up to 8 weeks).
Applicants must have 5 years UK residency and hold a NATO or MISWG passport.
What Youll Be Doing
Managing and updating as-built drawings and drawing registers
Setting out works and maintaining tight dimensional control
Providing day-to-day engineering support and resolving technical queries
Recording inspections, tests and workmanship (concrete, drainage, piling, etc.)
Monitoring progress against programme, quality and quantities
Maintaining calibration records for setting-out equipment
Producing site sketches and recording technical instructions
What Were Looking For
Proven experience as a Section Engineer or similar site-based role
Civil Engineering qualification (or equivalent) preferred
CSCS White and SSSTS essential
Experience in live, regulated or secure environments highly desirable
Working towards ICE / IStructE chartership an advantage
