A leading regional law firm are currently looking to recruit an experienced Solicitor to join their Actions Against the Police department. They are a progressive and expanding law firm with a strong reputation for upholding civil liberties and holding public authorities to account. Their Civil Actions Against the Police team is growing, and they are looking for a driven and passionate solicitor to join a supportive team.Job Title: Solicitor - Civil Actions Against the Police (NQ-5 PQE)Location: Liverpool - Hybrid WorkingSalary: Up to £45,000, dependent on experienceBenefits: Hybrid working, 23 days holiday plus bank holidays, 24/7 onsite gym, private medical insurance, employee assistance programme and active social committeeRe-train OpportunityWe welcome applications from solicitors with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in general civil litigation who wish to retrain in this area. Full training and support will be provided.The RoleWe are seeking a solicitor at NQ to 5 years PQE to manage a caseload of civil claims against the police and public bodies. You will be acting for clients in matters such as:
* Unlawful arrest and false imprisonment
* Human rights breaches
* Malicious prosecution
* Misfeasance in public office
* Judicial reviews
This is a highly rewarding role for someone with a solid litigation background and a commitment to access to justice. The caseload is varied and primarily multi-track, with civil jury trials a regular feature.Person Specification
* Qualified solicitor with 0-5 years PQE (including strong NQ applicants)
* At least 3 years’ experience managing Part 7 litigation files is preferred
* Strong working knowledge of the CPR and pre-action disclosure processes
