We're looking for an experienced Hygiene Manager to join an expanding team within a leading food manufacturer in Central Wales. This is a critical site-based role, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility for occasional night shifts to lead deep cleaning plans.
You'll be responsible for maintaining, developing, and implementing the hygiene regime, ensuring full compliance with procedures and food safety standards. This role is about driving real change and ensuring the highest standards are met across the site.
What you'll be doing:
* Leading a high-performing team: Manage, train, and support hygiene supervisors and operatives across a 3-shift spectrum, with flexibility to cover various patterns and occasional night shifts for deep cleans and improvement plans.
* Driving continuous improvement: Implement significant change to boost cleaning efficiency and effectiveness.
* Strategic oversight: Coordinate the site's hygiene strategy, focusing on people development, engagement, and cost control.
* Achieving tangible results: Manage and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) across the site.
* Problem-solving with precision: Utilise root cause analysis to implement SMART actions, improving overall hygiene standards.
* Planning and execution: Drive the planning and coordination of daily, routine, and deep cleaning cycles.
* Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with production, planning, and engineering to ensure cleans are carried out effectively without impacting production downtime.
* Quality assurance: Investigate and implement corrective actions for any micro or allergen out-of-spec results.
* Documentation and training: Maintain CICS, SDS, and procedures, ensuring all training is delivered.
* Auditing excellence: Conduct GMP and Hygiene Inspection Audits with Technical and Operations teams.
* Verification and representation: Carry out verification swabbing and cleaning validations, and represent the hygiene function during customer visits and audits.
* Compliance and performance: Ensure compliance with company food safety, quality, and legality policies, and manage team performance to deliver results.
This is an opportunity to make a real impact within a growing food business. If you're a hands-on Hygiene Manager with a proven track record of driving standards and leading teams, we want to hear from you.
