Senior Home Care Assistant : Skelmersdale Area

This is a Part time position 20 hours per week with potential to work full time hours, and this will be starting at £12.69 per hour with enhancements at weekends and overtime.
The role of the Senior Care Assistant is to support in the delivery of the highest quality care support services by line managing care workers, so we ask that you have a NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social care and be willing to work towards NVQ Level 3. The role does include some community-based work carrying out a variety of roles throughout the working day, including the assessment and review of individual services and the practical supervision, instruction, and support of care workers. Due to the community-based elements of the role you must be a driver with access to your own vehicle.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
To supervise and support the Community Carers in their delivery of care to Service Users, in line with agreed Care Plans.
To take an active part in the induction of newly recruited Community Carers.
To ensure that new and existing Service Users are assessed in line with Commissioner’s requirements and a Care Plan is produced to agreed timescales.
To ensure that Risk Assessments are carried out on new and existing Service Users to agreed timescales.
To undertake Quality Monitoring visits to agreed timescales.
To undertake ‘on-call’ duties to an agreed rota.
To provide direct cover for the sickness and annual leave of Community Carers, providing care which meets the requirements of the Service Users Care Plan.
To support the Care Coordinators in organising rotas for community care staff.
