Construction Group Tutor Location: Mansfield Permanent | Term Time Only Hours: 37.5 per week Salary: £15.37 per hour (£27,066 per annum, pro rata) The Role We are seeking an enthusiastic and hands-on Construction Group Tutor to join a growing vocational education team. This is a highly rewarding position, supporting young people to reconnect with learning through practical, skills-based construction education. Many of the learners you will support have additional needs or have struggled in more traditional educational environments. Your role will be to create an engaging and inclusive learning experience that helps them develop confidence, practical skills, and a positive relationship with education. You will deliver training across a range of construction activities, including bricklaying, joinery, painting and decorating, and other related practical skills. Creativity and adaptability are key, as lessons will need to be tailored to suit varying abilities, interests, and learning styles. This provision offers a flexible, personalised approach to learning. Teaching takes place across a range of settings, including: One-to-one sessions Small group delivery Larger vocational workshops The curriculum is designed to be responsive and learner-led, allowing young people to progress at their own pace while gaining meaningful, transferable skills. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver an engaging and accessible construction curriculum that promotes participation and achievement Adapt sessions to ensure learning is inclusive, practical, and motivating Support learners’ personal, social, and emotional development alongside their education Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals to meet individual learner needs Prepare schemes of work, session plans, assessments, and progress reports Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and risk management at all times Act as a positive role model, encouraging resilience, confidence, and independence Contribute to the ongoing development of innovative and effective vocational delivery About You You will be someone who is passionate about construction and equally passionate about supporting young people to succeed. You will bring: A minimum Level 1 qualification in a construction-related subject Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults, ideally within SEN or alternative provision A creative and flexible teaching approach Strong communication skills and confidence using ICT, including Google-based applications A good understanding of safeguarding, data protection, and safe working practices A full UK driving licence, access to a suitable vehicle, and business insurance Why Apply?
