The Role
Reporting to the Process Owner Assembly, the Section Manager Production leads the Make & Pack, Pick & Pack, and Wash & Pack operations. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on operational management, holding full financial, operational, and statutory accountability for the section.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
* Manage production schedules to align with the Master Production Schedule (MPS) while meeting quality KPIs and customer expectations
* Monitor daily operations, track deviations, and implement corrective actions to maintain compliance with established objectives
* Ensure full compliance with health and safety, food safety, Department for Transport (DfT), security, and gate OPEX standards
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives and support operational excellence across the section
* Hold full accountability for section financials including labour, materials, capital expenditure (CapEx), and operating expenses (OpEx)
* Develop and maintain efficient systems to ensure product quality, customer service excellence, and team development
People Management
* Proactively manage team performance, providing development opportunities and succession planning
* Foster a positive working environment while serving as a role model for company values
* Resolve conflicts effectively through strong influencing, negotiation, and communication skills
* Build and manage diverse teams across a 7‑day operation with flexibility to rotate through different departments as needed
