Role as a Therapeutic Teaching Assistant
As a Therapeutic Teaching Assistant, you will provide targeted support to pupils who face social, emotional, or mental health challenges. You’ll help build their confidence, promote self-regulation, and support learning both in and out of class.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Providing 1:1 and small group therapeutic support to pupils with SEMH needs
* Encouraging emotional regulation and positive coping strategies
* Supporting learning in the classroom in collaboration with teachers
* Building trusting relationships to foster confidence and engagement
* Liaising with SENCO, parents, and external specialists to track progress

* A Psychology, Criminology, or Education graduate with strong communication skills
* Ideally some experience working with children or young people in a school, mentoring, or therapeutic setting
* Someone with a calm, empathetic, and patient approach
