Shift Pattern: 5 days a week with 1 in 4 weekends

About the role:
The SVN role is fundamental to an outstanding veterinary practice. As a SVN, you will support our team of qualified RVNs and Vets in providing excellent care to our patients, working alongside a friendly team.
Some duties include:
* Nursing care to patients
* Assisting Vets and Nurses in restraining animals for treatment
* Cleaning, walking, and feeding of patients
* Preparation of emergency and operating facilities
* General cleaning and maintenance duties
* Running internal lab samples
* Answering emergency calls
* Covering the receptionist desk, including answering queries, booking appointments, and taking payments
What we're looking for in our new Student Veterinary Nurse:
* An excellent communicator with strong empathy
* Excellent customer service skills and experience dealing with the public
* Experience in animal welfare, including feeding, cleaning, medicating, and handling, with a high understanding of meeting animals' welfare needs
* Resilient with the ability to cope with potentially distressing situations
* A positive attitude and teamwork skills
* Experience in a veterinary environment is desirable
Qualifications Needed:
* Five GCSEs at Grade C/4 and above, including English, Maths, and Science
OR
* An animal nursing assistant (ANA) or veterinary care assistant (VCA) qualification, plus functional skills Level 2 in Application of Number and Communication
