Overview
This is a bookings, admin and events role for three busy community buildings run by All Saints Church, Weston, Bath. All Saints is the vibrant and busy parish church in Weston on the north west side of Bath near the Royal United Hospital. We serve the local community in many ways, sharing the life and message of Jesus.
You would be supporting our Community Facilities Manager in this full time post, sharing the workload of handling enquiries, taking bookings, managing the calendar, producing invoices, setting up the spaces and cleaning and clearing after bookings. It is not a maintenance and repair role.
The Successful candidate will be a dynamic, personable individual who is not only well able to cope with bookings, invoicing and general administration work, but who is also fit and healthy and enjoys the physical work of setting up for bookings and events, which can be demanding. Responsibilities
* Handling email, telephone and in person booking enquiries.
* Checking and managing the calendar and taking bookings.
* Pricing and invoicing for bookings.
* Checking of facilities for adequate supplies, cleanliness and preparation of rooms for bookings.
* Set ups for larger events, such as wedding receptions, concerts and celebration parties.
* Play your part in the safeguarding and security of all our buildings, understanding that this is core commitment of our Church.
* Set up of AV equipment for conferences and events - sound system, projector, TV.
* Assisting ministry staff with church bookings and helping with resources.
* Other work as directed your manager, Head of Operations or the Ministry Team.
* Some weekend and late evening working required as overtime when working on bookings. Working arrangements made well in advance.
Person Specification
* Self-starter with a can do attitude.
* Personal and friendly individual who can communicate very well.
* Ability and willingness to see tasks through to completion
* Able-bodied for physical tasks.
* Very at home using a computer with Microsoft applications.
* Intelligent and able to pick things up quickly and efficiently.
* Good sense of humour and sense of fun that reflects in the work.
* Good team player who likes to interact.
Experience
* A good standard of English and maths is required in order to work quickly and efficiently with tasks.
* Great computer skills - A very good working knowledge and experience with using Microsoft Office, Word and to some extent Excel. A quick learner for our bespoke software tools: ChurchSuite for bookings, calendar, address book etc and QuickBooks for invoicing. Training will be provided ,of course.
* Used to dealing with people in person and on the phone with a pleasant, can do attitude.
* Understanding of cleanliness and maintaining a high standard in and around our buildings.

A DBS check will be required to be completed before starting and two online safeguarding training modules will also be required to be completed prior to the job start date. All Saints will pay the sucessful candidate for the time taken to do this training prior to starting the job and that will be paid as overtime in the first main salary payment.
