Launched in January 2022 by Gear4music Limited, AV.com is a leading online retailer of home audio, cinema, and hi-fi equipment, aiming to be the premier online destination for home entertainment products. We are at an exciting stage of development and expansion, seeking a talented Managing Director to join our team at our York head office and play a crucial role in enhancing our online presence and driving sales.
Role Overview
Reporting to the CEO, this is a new role managing a significant part of the Gear4music portfolio. You will own business strategy and growth in the UK and EU markets, maintaining effective relationships across marketing, purchasing, and operations. Some travel may be involved, especially to our distribution centre in Bacup.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement commercial strategy encompassing product ranges, propositions, and user experience, aligned with broader Gear4music plans.
2. Lead change initiatives, introducing new processes and technologies such as AI, while maintaining operational rigor.
3. Identify risks and opportunities, creating plans to ensure business success.
4. Manage and develop the AV.com team, fostering a high-performance culture.
5. Oversee departments including purchasing, marketing, and logistics to ensure a strong value proposition.
6. Manage finances, including budgeting, forecasting, and KPI reporting to the board, ensuring financial health across EU markets.
Candidate Profile
* Experience in ecommerce or retail, with a solid understanding of industry challenges and best practices.
* Proven leadership in strategic planning, team management, and driving sales and revenue.
* Successful track record in managing complex business operations.
* Innovative mindset with data-driven decision-making skills.
* Creative problem-solving abilities.
* Adaptability to change and new directions.
