About the APCC

The APCC is the national membership organisation representing Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs), deputy mayors and other local policing bodies. We work across England and Wales to support PCCs to provide national leadership and drive strategic change in policing, criminal justice and community safety, operating in the public interest.

Location

We balance working in our Westminster office with working remotely. The organisation supports flexible work although some attendance in London would be required.

Responsibilities

An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead Communications and Public Affairs for the Association of Police and Crime Commissioners. The successful candidate will lead APCC Communications and Public Affairs functions at a time of far-reaching police sector reform, developing and delivering proactive communications and public affairs strategies to raise awareness and visibility of the role of PCCs and their equivalents and demonstrate the need for robust police governance and oversight in new policing structures. This is a rewarding and demanding role. You will lead the APCC Communications and Public Affairs team through a time of significant transformation and change; manage projects and suppliers; deliver a variety of high quality and professional communications products and services for members; forge strong and effective relationships with senior stakeholders across policing and criminal justice, Parliament, and the media; and act as a member of the APCC Senior Management Team. You will also play a key role on the Senior Management Team, helping the APCC to meet the Government’s White Paper commitment to redesign how the organisation will continue to play a key role across the reformed sector.
