Hanham Health is seeking to recruit a Medical Administrator to provide a high-quality support service at the GP Practice based at the MODAbbey Wood site in Filton.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our small, patientcentred team, providing Primary Healthcare and Occupational Health support tomilitary personnel.
You will work 32 hours over 4 days.
Main duties of the job
You will be an ambassador for the Practice offering aprofessional and caring welcome to patients and visitors, assisting andsignposting them in person.
You will provide admin support to the clinical staff and work closelywith all members of the MOD team.
Our ideal candidate will be able to prioritise activities,working in a calm, organised and methodical way, within a busy environment.
There will be opportunity for further training and thechance to get involved in our patient health promotions.
This role includes access to highly sensitive informationand you must conduct your work with the strictest confidence and comply withinformation governance, data protection and record keeping policies at alltimes.
Previous experience of working in GP Practice is notessential as full training will be offered. You just need to have a passion forproviding an exceptional customer service.

Job responsibilities
Key tasks
* Support and help military patients with all requests and queries in a timely manner, whilekeeping patient records and data confidential.
* Provide admin support to the clinical team.
* Manage the e-referral system and hospitals referral database including checking for rejected referralsand advice and guidance.
* Process post and emails.
* Send prescriptions to nominated pharmacies.
* Liaise withother military Service providers and non-Service establishments in the UK andoverseas.
* Comply withpractice procedures and protocols in accordance with Defence Primary Healthcarepolicies.
* Coach and mentor new members of admin and reception staff.
* Work collaboratively with the military joint service admin unit andsenior personnel.
* Attend andcontribute to staff meetings including governance and assurance.

* Previous experience of working within the GP practice is not essential.
Qualifications
* GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
