As a Lecturer in Electrical Installations at Canterbury College, you will bring your industry knowledge into the classroom to teach and inspire the next group of aspiring Electricians. This is a great start to switch on your teaching career at East Kent College.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and deliver engaging lessons to educate learners.
* Train and assess students in both theory and practical work.
* Support learners to achieve their full potential.
* Provide a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
* Teach a range of designated study programmes and courses from Level 1 up to Level 3 and motivate learners to succeed on their programmes of study.
What we are looking for / Requirements
* Highly organised and efficient.
* Ability to plan and deliver creative and engaging lessons.
* Up-to-date industry knowledge and experience.
* Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
* Ability to ensure all students develop the skills they need to succeed.
* Experience of teaching or delivering training in the workplace is desirable but not essential, as training will be offered to the successful applicant.
* Positive outlook, empathy towards learners and strong class management skills.
Ideally you will have teaching experience or have delivered training in the workplace; if not, training will be offered. You must have a positive outlook, be empathetic towards learners and have strong class management skills. Internal applicants may qualify for a higher salary scale after meeting criteria and one full academic year of teaching, subject to approval.
